Affordable Housing

• Property taxes are shifted from landlords to renters.  By lowering taxes through classification restructuring, we should be able to decrease rents.
• Planned development of more residential property in areas of the city that are willing and able to support it.
• Encourage colleges and universities in the area to build more student housing to lower the demand on residential homes.
• Increase transportation to areas of the city that are more undesirable because of a lack of transportation.
• Educate renters about home-buying, interest rates, and first time home-buying programs offered by the city of Boston.
• Provide more information about bus schedules and travel options.
