REDUCING
TAXES ON RESIDENTS |
The City of
Boston needs to change the way it assesses property. We need to create a
FAIR SHARE TAX PLAN
-
Fix Loop holes
that large corporations are taking advantage of, which in turn will place
less burden on residences and small businesses.
-
Roughly half the
taxable property in Boston is taken up by non-profit organizations.
The city needs to tax non-profit property that is used for
residence (example: College Dormitories). These residences and students
consume a large amount of city services paid for by the tax payers in
Boston.
-
The city needs to
re-examine BRA (Boston Re-Development Authority) property
and determine whether some of those holdings should be taxed.
-
The increased revenue should be used to lower the taxes on residences and
small businesses.
